State Bar of Texas seeks an experienced civil litigation attorney to manage a diverse caseload in Houston. You will represent clients in state and federal courts, draft pleadings, and develop strategies in line with Texas law.

The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), licensed to practice in Texas, with strong research, writing, and negotiation skills. On-site position with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Formación

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar membership required and able to practice in Texas.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong written and verbal skills.
• Prior civil litigation experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Texas civil procedure and litigation practices.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters.
• Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings.
• Handle civil, commercial, and contract disputes.
• Conduct client interviews and develop case strategies.
• Draft/ review complaints, answers, motions, and discovery documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
• Prepare for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trial.
• Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel and clients.
• Analyze evidence, contracts, financials, and related documents.
• Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to manage matters.
• Ensure compliance with Texas Bar rules and court procedures.

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000 - $150,000 annually. Compensation will be determined based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters.
• Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, as applicable.
• Handle matters involving civil disputes, commercial disputes, contract disputes, business litigation, property disputes, and other civil litigation matters.
• Conduct client interviews and develop case strategies based on the facts, applicable law, and the client's objectives.
• Draft and review complaints, answers, motions, memoranda, pleadings, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and case assessments.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements and communicate effectively with opposing counsel, clients, experts, and other parties.
• Analyze evidence, documents, contracts, financial records, and other information relevant to assigned matters.
• Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure efficient case management and preparation.
• Maintain compliance with applicable Texas Bar rules, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, court rules, and professional responsibilities.
• Perform other duties related to the representation of clients and management of assigned matters.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in The Texas Bar and authorization to practice law in Texas.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Prior civil litigation experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Texas civil procedure and litigation practices.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a legal team.
• Professional demeanor and strong client-service skills.
• Proficiency with legal technology and case-management systems.
