Job summary

Meyer Contracting, Inc. in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Civil Modeler to join our earthwork and site-work team. You will create precise 3D models from 2D plans, compile takeoffs, and ensure data integrity for field implementation.

You will support bidding and project management with accurate quantities and modeling expertise, contributing to an employee-owned culture and growth of the company.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading heavy civil construction plans (earthwork, utilities, site-work).
• Experience with 3D modeling and takeoff software (e.g., Agtek, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify plan discrepancies.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Data Acquisition: obtain project data from clients and engineers.
• 3D Model Creation: develop precise 3D surfaces and site models from plans and survey data.
• Data & Plan Quality Control: verify models accurately represent plans and specs.
• Quantity & Progress Takeoffs: generate earthwork and material takeoffs; update from field surveys and drone data.
• Handoff & Communication: deliver models in standardized format and communicate complexities.
• Support Estimating Team: provide takeoff quantities and modeling input for bids.
