Job summary

The Governor’s Office of Community Service (ServeMontana) is seeking a Training Specialist to support Montana’s AmeriCorps programs by coordinating training needs and delivering in-person and virtual sessions. This role strengthens statewide networks, builds capacity, and expands opportunities for public service across Montana.

You will plan events, engage diverse partners, and represent the office in outreach and collaboration, contributing to civic life and community service growth.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating training, professional development, or capacity building programs in public, nonprofit, or educational settings.
• Experience developing or facilitating workshops or learning events applying adult learning principles.
• Proficiency with virtual meeting and learning tools, event planning systems, and standard office software.
• Experience building relationships with diverse communities or organizations for public service goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including presenting to varied audiences.
• Degree supplementation not required but helpful.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate statewide training initiatives for AmeriCorps State programs and Commission staff.
• Assess training needs with grantees and partners to shape priorities.
• Plan major learning events like ServeMontana Symposium and partner calls.
• Deliver in-person and virtual trainings using adult learning principles.
• Promote collaboration with service, nonprofit, and volunteer networks.
• Provide courteous customer service to AmeriCorps programs and partners.
• Administer federal grant requirements in training content and communications.
