Job summary

Public Citizen’s Communications Office seeks a social media associate to join a fast-paced team at a pivotal political moment. The role demands a quick, creative online writer who can craft engaging content and eye-catching graphics on deadline.

You will generate daily content, produce memes and videos, and leverage analytics to optimize strategy across TikTok, Instagram, and Substack, aiming to grow reach and impact. A minimum of three years in digital communications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in digital communications or organizing.
• Proven track record of high-performing social content.
• Experience with analytics to optimize digital campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Generate, curate, and publish daily content across social platforms.
• Create memes, graphics, and videos to boost virality.
• Collaborate with the digital team to hit target metrics.
• Track analytics and optimize campaigns with data-driven insights.
• Monitor breaking news and develop related content.
• Fulfill social media requests from departments.
• Research benchmark trends and audience preferences.
• Develop joint strategies with other departments.
• Co-manage Public Citizen’s social media calendar.
• Coordinate trainings on best practices.
• Write scripts, film, and edit Instagram reels and TikTok videos.
• Manage content production on Public Citizen’s Substack.
• Review staff content and edit as needed.
• Manage TikTok account and engage with comments.
• Engage with influencers and organizations for outreach.
• Represent organization through video content on TikTok and Instagram.
• Other duties as assigned.
