Job summary

City of Carbondale is seeking a Facility/Event Support Worker to perform daily custodial, maintenance, and security tasks at City Hall/Civic Center. Responsibilities include cleaning, set-up for events, and assisting staff.

The role requires a high school diploma, custodial experience, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Regular full-time hours with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years custodial experience required.
• Event experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Must pass a police background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial tasks to keep City Hall/Civic Center clean and safe.
• Set up audio-visual equipment and assist with event setups.
• Provide access and security for weekend/evening events as scheduled.
