Job summary

HDR Architecture in the Omaha Metro region seeks a Civic Principal to lead the civic practice, grow multi-disciplinary teams, and deliver public and private sector projects across the Midwest. You will leverage established client relationships, drive design excellence, and mentor staff while aligning with HDR’s sustainability targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture is required.
• 15 years related experience in architecture or civic projects.
• Minimum 7 years project management experience.
• Registered Architect status is required.
• Ability to lead teams and present to clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead or direct project teams in securing project contracts.
• Provide client oversight to ensure quality, financial, and schedule expectations are met.
• Support project closeout and post-occupancy evaluations.
• Maintain ongoing client relationships after project completion.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor staff and support career development.
• Ensure overall project performance and success.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and, on major projects, serve in that role if needed.
• Coordinate with Regional leadership on financial oversight.
