Job summary

HDR Architecture Practice is seeking an Associate Civic Principal to guide the Civic sector in the Great Plains region. You will support growth, build client relationships, and lead pursuits while partnering with the Civic Principal.

The role requires strong leadership, project management, and communication skills, with a focus on mentoring staff and advancing design excellence. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in the Great Plains region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
• Ability to interact with various design teams, along with excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction for the Civic sector in the region and grow the client base.

• Develop abstracts and presentations for industry events to promote sector messages and learnings.

Associate Civic Principal – HDR Architecture Practice

In the role of Associate Civic Principal you will guide the overall direction of the Civic sector in the local region, develop a client base, and support the growth of the Civic Team across the Great Plains region.

Responsibilities

Deliver great work, develop professional networks, grow your craft, and aspire to the role of a Civic Principal. Key duties include business development, leading pursuits, directing project teams, building client relationships, and more:

• In coordination with the local Civic Principal, contribute to leadership and visioning for the Civic sector.
• Assist local Civic Principal and leadership in reaching net fees booked goals.
• Lead capture plans, qualifications, and proposals for Civic clients and pursuits.
• Lead interview strategies and implementation.
• Learn and lead internal HDR marketing processes such as GNG, fee development/approval, risk awareness and data maintenance.
• Serve as Project Manager or appropriate role on projects and prepare and negotiate project contracts.
• Maintain project oversight throughout execution, ensuring compliance with client expectations for technical/quality, financial performance, and schedule adherence.
• Proactively interface with clients, engaging them regularly through multiple channels.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to staff and project teams.
• Develop abstracts and presentations for industry conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events that promote sector messages, research, project outcomes, lessons learned, and trends.
• Actively cultivate a network of industry partners for intelligence gathering and strategic development.
• Engage regularly in local industry organizations.
