Job summary

City of Highland Park, IL is seeking a versatile IT support professional to serve as the initial contact for staff IT needs across the city. The role focuses on troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and telecom issues while onboarding and rolling out new technologies city-wide.

The successful candidate will manage vendor relationships, process invoices, and help with budgeting and procurement. A 3–5 year background in IT support and an Associate's degree are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT/CS or related field required.
• 3–5 years of IT support experience with strong troubleshooting and customer service.
• Experience coordinating with vendors, processing invoices, and procurement activities.
• Valid driver's license; IT certifications encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 help desk support City-wide; troubleshoot and escalate.
• Serve as primary contact for IT vendor relationships; manage service requests and invoices.
• Process and track IT invoices, POs, and recurring service billing; reconcile with contracts.
• Install, configure, and maintain devices, OS, software, and network connections city-wide.
• Maintain IT systems (Help Desk, Asset Management, Software Licensing) and license records.
• Research IT products; obtain quotes and recommend purchasing options.
• Assist with onboarding and rollout of new technologies and pilots.
• Support staff at all levels, including training and documentation.
