Job summary

City of Stamford seeks a GIS Manager to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Stamford's Geographic Information System. You will coordinate data across city divisions, ensure data quality and compatibility, and supervise GIS staff.

The role requires strong ESRI ArcGIS expertise, data management skills, and the ability to oversee complex GIS projects and applications citywide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Planning or related field required.
• Five years of GIS experience including Arc/Info GIS modules and programming.
• Two years of project management or supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the City’s GIS.
• Coordinate GIS data across city divisions and ensure data standards.
• Supervise GIS staff and provide training to users citywide.
• Oversee GIS applications development and integration with City systems.
• Issue RFPs and manage third party data/provider projects.
• Maintain enterprise geodatabases and support critical enterprise applications.
