Job summary

The City of St. Peters, MO, seeks an experienced GIS professional to coordinate development, implementation, and operation of the City’s GIS, providing leadership and staff training while establishing standards and workflows for data management.

This role supports city operations and decision-making through accurate geographic information, overseeing data quality, system maintenance, and integration with databases, while ensuring confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, or related field and four years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the development, implementation, and daily operation of the City's GIS.
• Supervise staff, including training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and hiring/termination input.
• Develop standards, workflows, and procedures for GIS data used citywide.
• Provide GIS technical support, training, and assistance to City staff.
• Respond to user requests and implement GIS-related solutions.
• Maintain data quality and integrity of GIS databases.
• Coordinate city-wide GIS plans and strategies.
• Maintain GIS data resources via Internet and Intranet platforms.
• Assist with budget, policies, schedules, and operational GIS needs.
• Work with spatial databases and manage geographic information.
• Handle confidential information and follow safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
