Job summary

The City of Seattle is seeking experienced Truck Drivers to support ROW Maintenance and Urban Forestry operations. You will drive trucks with various equipment, inspect and perform basic maintenance, and lead a crew for road patching and cleaning tasks.

The position requires a valid Washington State CDL-B with tanker endorsement and airbrake restriction removed, plus potential related certifications within six months. Multiple shifts across diverse routes are available.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience operating trucks over 10,000 lbs GVW.
• Knowledge of City, State, and Federal truck safety regulations.
• Completion of a recognized Commercial Driver Training course.
• Ability to obtain a flagger card within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate single or double-axle dump trucks with trailer to haul materials and loads.
• Drive trucks with specialized equipment (hotbox asphalt trucks, boom trucks, snow plows).
• Inspect trucks and equipment for safe condition; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain records of mileage, servicing and maintenance.
• Lead a crew of laborers for road patching, cleaning culverts, and related tasks.
