• ICC Permit Technician / Residential Plans Examiner / Building Plans Examiner / Residential / Commercial Building Inspector certifications may be preferred.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in municipal building permitting, inspections, plan review, development services, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews residential and commercial construction documents for compliance with adopted codes and local requirements.
• Reviews permit applications and supporting documents for completeness.
• Identifies code deficiencies and issues clear plan-review comments and correction notices.
• Coordinates specialized or third-party reviews when plans require engineering, architectural, fire, or other review.
• Coordinates permit applications throughout the City's review process and tracks status.
• Maintains permit records and assists with permitting software and documentation.
• Provides customer service to contractors, architects, engineers, developers, property owners, and residents regarding permitting and plan-review requirements.
