Job summary

City of Bixby, known as the Garden Spot of Oklahoma, seeks a City Manager to guide a fast-growing community of about 32,000 residents. You will partner with the Mayor and City Council, staff, and business leaders to steer growth while preserving quality of life.

The City Manager acts as the chief administrative officer, implementing laws, managing budgets, and building strong neighborhood services. This exempt, full-time role requires a dedicated municipal leader with vision and integrity to

Qualifications

• Experience as City Manager or assistant City Manager preferred.
• Residence within the Bixby city limits during tenure.
• Valid Oklahoma driver's license and clean record.
• No felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• Enforce city laws and ordinances across departments.
• Appoint and remove department heads with council approval.
• Direct all city operations and administrative functions.
• Prepare monthly council status reports from department heads.
• Attend council meetings and provide counsel without voting.
• Prepare annual city budget and monitor financial health.
