Job summary

The City of Wilmington seeks a Construction Management - Division Manager to lead the Construction Management team, guiding project managers and inspectors while ensuring safe, efficient delivery of city and private development projects.

You will oversee budgets, contracts, and technical standards; coordinate with engineering, public works, and contractors to turn plans into durable, high-quality infrastructure. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related program.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction management.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.
• Knowledge of construction management practices, standards, and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff by implementing procedures and guiding project management and inspection duties; evaluates performance.
• Oversees permitting, contract administration, and compliance with engineering standards; manages project budgets.
• Directs surveyors, consultants, and CAD/GIS staff to produce construction documents for multiple capital projects.
• Manages budgets, cost estimates, and change orders; negotiates amendments and grant applications.
