Job summary

The Municipal Building Commission is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning in the Minneapolis City Hall Building and Adult Detention Center. This position works Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:00PM, with an additional $1.00 per hour when working in the ADC.

Responsibilities include cleaning, restocking, and operating cleaning equipment; minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of cleaning experience; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and communicate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of cleaning-related experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash, recycling and organic waste containers from assigned areas.
• Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, drinking fountains in assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum offices, conference rooms, hallways, stairs and elevators in assigned areas.
• Clean glass, doors and walls as well as dust surfaces in assigned areas.
• Restock paper goods in kitchens and bathrooms.
• Use assigned departmental equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, carpet spotters.
