Job summary

City of Eureka is seeking a mid-management Engineering Division leader to plan, organize, and direct division operations, including capital improvement planning and grant administration. You will coordinate with multiple City departments and external agencies, providing professional support to the City Engineer and stepping in during their absence.

Qualifications

• Five years of civil engineering/public works experience, including two years in high-level project management or supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs projects and staff within the Engineering Department.
• Oversees long- and short-range capital improvement planning and development.
• Administers Federal, State, and local funds for capital improvements.
• Coordinates with other City departments and outside agencies.
• Provides professional-level support to the City Engineer and may act in their absence.
• Manages division day-to-day administrative functions and contracts.
• Develops goals, policies, and priorities for assigned programs.
