Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• Five years of municipal-related engineering experience required, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain Virginia PE license within one year; floodplain management and erosion/stormwater certifications or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Division Manager for the Engineering Division.
• Inspects field projects to confirm conformance to specifications.
• Prepares budget estimates and monitors division budgets.
• Collaborates on planning and completion of capital improvement projects.
• Oversees design, project management, and inspection of City infrastructure.
• Assembles bid packages for capital projects.
• Responds to inquiries concerning engineering projects and programs.
• Coordinates review of plans and as-builts for new development.
• Maintains records of water, sewer, stormwater, and streets acceptance.
