Job summary

The City of Bryan in Ohio seeks a knowledgeable City Engineer to lead and manage the city's engineering functions. You will oversee public infrastructure projects including streets, utilities, capital improvement projects, and development review, ensuring safe, sustainable planning and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and four years of experience or training post licensure.
  • Civil Professional Engineer license in State of Ohio required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and supervises design of capital improvement projects; assigns staff to project phases.
  • Reviews design for compliance with engineering principles and specifications; fluent in AutoCAD and GIS data collection theodolite, GPS equipment usage.
  • Coordinates activities for technical developments, scheduling, and problem resolution.
  • Oversees building inspections and enforcement of housing standards.
  • Prepares bid specs and oversees street, sewer and stormwater projects; certifies sewer system capacity.
  • Pursues federal, state and county grant funding for transportation and sewer projects.
  • Manages budgets, cost estimates and project reports; provides engineering counsel to departments and mayor.
