Job summary

The City Engineer provides strategic leadership for the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department, overseeing capital delivery, transportation, stormwater and wastewater planning, development engineering, surveying, GIS, and infrastructure policy.

As a key member of the Public Works leadership team, the City Engineer guides long-range infrastructure investments, ensures compliance with regulations, and serves as the principal engineering advisor to the City Manager and City Council.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Oregon PE registration or reciprocity eligibility.
• Eight+ years of professional civil engineering leadership.
• Experience leading capital programs, development review, and transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department.
• Oversee planning, design, funding, and implementation of the City’s capital improvement program.
• Serve as principal engineering advisor to the City Manager, City Council, and advisory committees on complex engineering and public policy matters.
