Job summary

City of Galveston is seeking a City Engineer to serve as the City’s senior engineering professional, providing strategic leadership for municipal infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, roads, and facilities. The role oversees design and construction, managing change orders and project expenditures.

The candidate will lead the Engineering and Construction Divisions with a $347 Million annual budget, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with community goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Five years' experience in municipal engineering operations, including five years of management or supervisory experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas.
• If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas reciprocity within six months of hire date.
• Municipal government experience preferred; proficiency in CAD and GIS.
