The City of Conroe is seeking a professional engineer to lead and coordinate the Engineering division, directing capital improvement planning, design, survey, development review, and construction inspection. This senior role bridges Development and the CIP to ensure capital investments support responsible growth, long-term resilience, and community progress.

Responsible professional, technical, planning, and administrative position responsible for directing and coordinating Engineering functions, including capital improvement planning, design, survey, development review, and construction inspection. The position bridges Development and the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) by evaluating growth, infrastructure capacity, and future needs to ensure capital investments support responsible development, long-term growth, and community resilience. Work is performed with considerable independence within established City policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Bachelor's degree in related field and ten (10) years of civil engineering experience, master's preferred; some of which are with a municipality, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas; Certification as a Professional Land Surveyor preferred. Familiarity with various types of engineering software preferred.
The work is light work and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: hearing, mental acuity, speaking, repetitive motions, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
