Job summary

South Burlington, City of (VT) seeks a Senior Data Analyst to lead the collection, analysis, and visualization of City data to inform operational and policy decisions that support a strong Leadership Team.

You will work with City leadership across departments to facilitate data-driven decision-making, implement new data-sharing frameworks, and supervise the City’s Data and GIS Analyst to produce accessible reports and dashboards for staff, Councilors, and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/Data Science/CS/Public Policy or related field with 3+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using tools, databases, and languages such as R and/or Python.
• Experience presenting to leadership, elected officials, and the public.
• Valid Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Lead data collection, analysis, and visualization for city operations.
• Advise city leadership and City Council on operational decisions.
• Develop and implement the City’s Data Strategy.
• Manage cross-department data systems and vendor relationships.
• Provide training to colleagues on data input and usage.
• Ensure data standards compliance across City datasets.
