Job summary

University of Michigan-Flint is seeking a proactive student assistant to support the College of Innovation and Technology Career Advisor. In this role, you will aid with campus communications, coordinate events, and help track student activity while balancing your academic schedule.

This part-time, onsite position offers hands-on experience in program coordination, exposure to campus events, and opportunities to develop professional skills within the CIT community.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at UM-Flint.
  • Must have completed at least 2 semesters at UM-Flint and maintain a 2.0+ GPA.
  • Must be a College of Innovation and Technology student with FERPA/privacy waiver.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with the CIT team.

Responsibilities

  • Support CIT Career Advisor with communications and marketing efforts.
  • Drive engaging social campaigns and update campus outreach calendars.
  • Take photos and write articles documenting events for newsletters.
  • Assist in planning CIT Career Fairs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Track student submissions and tasks in the PCD program.

Applications without a resume and cover letter will not be reviewed.## Job SummaryThe College of Innovation and Technology (CIT) at the University of Michigan-Flint is seeking a proactive, self-motivated student assistant to join our team! In this role, you will work closely with the CIT Career Advisor to support departmental communications, help coordinate exciting campus events, and assist with student tracking.This position is a fantastic opportunity for a continuous learner who wants to develop professional skills, give back to the CIT community, and gain hands-on experience in program coordination-all while balancing their academic schedule.## Responsibilities\*Communication & Marketing:* Assist with student outreach in alignment with the CIT Marketing Plan.* Drive engaging social media campaigns.* Maintain and update campus outreach mediums (Canvas & Handshake Calendars).* Take pictures and write articles to document events for use in CIT Career Newsletters and other publications.Event Coordination:* Support the planning and execution of CIT Career Fairs, workshops, and professional seminars.Data & Tracking:* Assist in tracking student submissions with CIT's Professional Career Development (PCD) Program.* Log Points for completed tasks.* Assist with the distribution and collection, opinion polls or questionnaire data related to CIT Career Services.Team Collaboration:* Attend scheduled training* Other duties as assigned to support the department's success. ## Required Qualifications\* + Must be currently enrolled in at least 6+ credit hours at UM-Flint. + Must have completed at least 2 semesters at UM-Flint. + Maintains a UM-Flint cumulative and semester GPA of 2.0 or higher. + Must be a College of Innovation and Technology student FERPA and Privacy Wavier By submitting this application, you are waiving your privacy rights as outlined in the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) and allowing staff within CIT to view your transcript in order to confirm your academic eligibility for this position. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
