The IA helps facilitate student learning by providing guidance on course material, answering questions, and assisting with course administration.This position does not include any course instruction.## Responsibilities\** Assist the instructor with objectively grading assignments, quizzes, exams, and other course assessments.* Provide support to students by getting answers to questions and clarifying coursework* Assist in the preparation and organization of materials, including course handouts, practice problems, and online course content, primarily by printing course handouts for the instructor.* Support course administration by helping manage course communications and other tasks as assigned. ## Required Qualifications\* + Must be a current University of Michigan-Flint undergraduate student or a recent graduate and not enrolled in a UM-Flint graduate program. + Successfully completed CHM 260 (or an equivalent General Chemistry I course) with a final grade of A + Demonstrated strong understanding of introductory chemistry concepts. + Must have strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. + Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and work effectively with students. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling student information. ## Desired Qualifications\* - Previous experience tutoring, mentoring, or assisting students in chemistry or other STEM courses. - Experience using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) or similar educational technologies. - Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. ## Modes of Work Onsite The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence.
