Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer with a focus on ASIC/FPGA to support the FBM D5LE2 Avionics program.

Responsibilities include designing and validating avionics packages for the Initiation and Preset Subsystem, performing Worst Case and stress analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable hardware for Trident II systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience with ASIC/FPGA development
• Circuit design at the card/board level schematic and analysis
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or equivalent)

Join us as a Circuit Design Engineer ASIC/FPGA specialist and become a member of the US Navy's Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Avionics team.

Location: This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Littleton CO, and be expected to work in the office.

What does this role look like?

The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence.

As a ASIC/FPGA specialist Circuit Design Engineer, you will support the development of Avionics Packages for the Initiation and Preset Subsystem for the D5LE2 Trident II Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

• Interface with the FPGA/ASIC development team to ensure parts meet the needs for Avionics Packages electrical designs.
• Design/Capture electrical schematics and guide the board layouts.
• Perform electrical Worst Case Analysis and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis.
• Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve test anomalies, support system level testing.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

• Experience with ASIC/FPGA development.
• Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
• Experience in different phases of aerospace hardware development cycle.
• Experience interacting with peers, management and government customers.
• Experience in presentations and in written communication skills.
• 3+ years professional experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience with ASIC/FPGA development.
• Experience in circuit design at the card/board level schematic and analysis.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or equivalent), thus US Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

• Experience with a combination of design, test, operations and systems engineering disciplines.
• Experience in schematic capture using Xpedition or similar tools.
• Experience with PSPICE, Saber or other electronics simulation tool experience.
• Experience performing electronics analysis (Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Parts Stress Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis).
• Experience performing failure Investigation on electronic hardware (CCA, Unit, and System Level).
• Demonstrated good communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members.
• Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Adaptable to new situations and demonstrate self-initiative in solving complex problems.
• Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00
