Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer to join the FBM D5LE2 Avionics team in Littleton, CO. The role focuses on developing Avionics Packages for Initiation and Preset subsystems of the D5LE2 program, with in-office work and no telework option.

You will lead circuit design activities, supervise schematic capture, PCB layouts, and perform worst-case and parts-stress analyses within a cross-functional team, interacting with government customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in circuit design at card/board level schematic and analysis.
• Experience as a technical lead or responsible engineer.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or equivalent), US citizenship required.

What does this role look like?

The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence.

As a RSE Delegate Circuit Design Engineer, you will support the development of Avionics Packages for the Initiation and Preset Subsystem for the D5LE2 Trident II Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile.

Key Activities You Will Accomplish In This Role

• Have delegated RSE authority for review and approval of technical scope.
• Subsystem level design, delivery, and certification.
• Advocate for product technical aspects at all stages of the lifecycle.
• Support the design/capture of electrical schematics and guidance of PCB layouts.
• Support electrical Worst-Case Analysis and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis.
• Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve test anomalies, support system level testing.

To Be Effective In This Role, You Will Need

• Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
• Experience in different phases of aerospace hardware development cycle.
• Experience interacting with peers, management and government customers.
• Experience in presentations and in written communication skills.
• 5+ years professional experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience in circuit design at the card/board level schematic and analysis.
• Experience as a technical lead or responsible engineer.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or equivalent), thus US Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

• Experienced at leading teams through challenging engineering and/or programmatic issues.
• Experience on Space and/or Missile Defense Missions.
• Experience as a CPE/RSE or CPE/RSE delegate.
• Experience with a combination of design, test, operations and systems engineering disciplines.
• Experience in schematic capture using Xpedition or similar tools.
• Experience with PSPICE, Saber or other electronics simulation tool experience.
• Experience performing electronics analysis (Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Parts Stress Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis).
• Experience performing failure Investigation on electronic hardware (CCA, Unit, and System Level).
• Demonstrated good communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members.
• Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Adaptable to new situations and demonstrate self-initiative in solving complex problems.
• Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00
