Circuit Board Technician Temporary - (84841)

Location: 13302 - EMS Bothell WA - Bothell, WA 98021 US (Primary)

Job Purpose:

Perform a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly troubleshooting operations according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams. This position requires the use of power supplies, Digital Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, Frequency Generators, Schematics, and Bills of Materials to define root cause defects on NPI, Production and Customer Service Ultrasound circuit boards and High Level Assemblies. Each Assembly requires Functional Test, Resident Self Test, Imaging and data entry for device history record keeping.

Nature of Duties:

  • Operate various hand tools
  • Perform repetitive tasks troubleshooting and testing of complex digital printed circuit boards for medical devices.
  • Follow written instructions from formal procedures.
  • Lift or move materials usually not in excess of 35 pounds
  • Able to read work instructions and procedures as needed.
  • Able to read complex schematics in excess of 100 pages with digital logic circuitry on boards with excess of 16,000 components.
  • Surface Mount Device (SMD) troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Driven to find root cause of failures.
  • Direct rework and repair of printed circuit boards and test to confirm correct operation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in standing position for long periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively use schematics to identify failures in multi-layer circuit boards. Can be up to 20 layers and over 16,000 components. Requires deep understanding of electronic circuits.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates in Applied Science in Electronic or Computer Engineering or military/technical school equivalent or 6+ years of related experience.
  • Able to use data collection software to input and analyze information gathered during repairs.
  • Able to work in a team environment toward the goals set forth by supervisors/managers.
  • Must have substantial understanding of the job and apply that knowledge and skill in a wide range of tasks.
  • Can work with minimal instruction on daily tasks and requires only general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • Able to successfully read and interpret work instructions, schematics, drawings and Engineering Change Orders.
  • Able to use necessary equipment to perform rework on defective components.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
