Job summary

Flex is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer in Austin, TX to drive manufacturability improvements for circuit board production. You will define processes, implement control methodologies, troubleshoot issues and mentor a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in fast-paced circuit board manufacturing.
  • Experience with RCA and continuous process improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; mentoring ability.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
  • Willingness to work in a team and lead a high-performing group.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement manufacturability improvements for circuit board processes.
  • Define, implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and problem-solving in daily production.
  • Participate in capital equipment justification and ECO activities.
  • Develop and maintain robust process control methodologies.
  • Train production personnel during new technology transfer and process changes.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance and quality.
  • Guide cost-improvement initiatives and optimize cycle times.
