Job description

Our client is a leading provider of residential and commercial services, with a strong presence in the home services and security industries. The company is seeking a CIO to serve as the organization's senior-most technology executive. This leader will establish and execute an enterprise-wide technology strategy that supports business growth, operational scalability, customer experience, cybersecurity, and innovation.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of strategic leadership, operational discipline, and hands‑on technology expertise. This executive will partner closely with the CEO, President, and Executive Leadership Team to align technology investments with business priorities and create a scalable, secure, and high‑performing technology environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with the CEO, President, and Executive Leadership Team to establish short- and long-term technology strategies that support company growth, profitability, operational excellence, and customer experience.
  • Build, lead, and execute the company's enterprise technology strategy, with a focus on cybersecurity, IT operations, software engineering, business intelligence, data analytics, AI/ML, and digital transformation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business model and identify opportunities where technology can differentiate customer and employee experiences, improve operational efficiency, and create competitive advantage.
  • Establish and manage technology intake and demand‑management processes, prioritizing initiatives and allocating IT resources toward the highest‑value business opportunities.
  • Build a high‑trust, accountable technology organization with clear roles, performance expectations, career paths, and leadership development opportunities. Ensure employees have the resources, support, and training required to succeed.
  • Lead the delivery of major business and technology initiatives, including digital transformation, platform modernization, systems implementation, and enterprise integrations. Ensure initiatives are effectively planned, governed, and executed.
  • Oversee the technology organization's operating and capital budgets, ensuring disciplined allocation of resources and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Manage strategic technology vendor relationships, including vendor selection, due diligence, contract negotiations, pricing, performance management, and ongoing accountability.
  • Make pragmatic build‑versus‑buy decisions while ensuring technology architecture is scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with long‑term business objectives.
  • Own and evolve the Technology M&A Playbook, including technical diligence, integration planning, systems rationalization, cybersecurity assessment, data migration, and post‑close technology stabilization.
  • Ensure core business platforms—including CRM, billing, ERP, workforce management, field service, customer lifecycle, contact center, monitoring, and analytics capabilities—support customer growth, retention, operational scalability, and recurring revenue objectives.
  • Lead modernization of core business platforms and integrations to reduce technical debt, improve reliability, increase automation, and enable the business to adapt more quickly.
  • Establish strong technology governance across data, cybersecurity, architecture, compliance, resiliency, disaster recovery, and operational support.
  • Establish and monitor performance expectations for technology delivery and operations, including system availability, service levels, delivery predictability, cybersecurity, recovery readiness, stakeholder satisfaction, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Oversee the full technology environment, including cybersecurity, software and Salesforce engineering, data analytics, AI/ML, architecture, cloud and on‑premises infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, helpdesk, workforce management systems, vendors, and technology project management.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Significant experience operating as a senior technology executive or technology leader, with demonstrated experience partnering directly with the CEO, President, and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Strong track record developing and executing enterprise technology strategies in growth‑oriented, operationally complex organizations.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity, IT operations, software engineering, data and analytics, infrastructure, architecture, and digital transformation functions.
  • Experience in the home services, residential services, field services, security, monitoring, or other recurring‑revenue service industries is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology environments supporting distributed, field‑based, customer‑facing operations.
  • Strong Salesforce experience, including familiarity with platforms such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Field Service, CPQ, Communities, Marketing Cloud, and Commerce Cloud.
  • Experience with call center/contact center technologies and customer service platforms.
  • Strong experience with technology program and project management methodologies, including Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with mobile technologies, devices, field applications, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with ERP, billing, payroll, workforce management, and other core business systems and implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technology integrations associated with M&A, including technical diligence, integration planning, systems consolidation, and post‑acquisition stabilization.
  • Experience with data governance and modern data platforms; experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, infrastructure, networks, and technology governance.
