Job summary

Zaden Technologies in the Baltimore-Washington area seeks a CIO-level leader to own IT strategy, security and governance for a DoD cyber mission customer. You’ll be the primary contact to the CIO organization, overseeing budgeting, workforce, investments and risk management.

You will drive cross-team collaboration, manage vendor security, and lead crisis response while promoting a security-first culture through training and awareness programs.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• 5+ years IT leadership at CIO or deputy-CIO level including planning, budgeting and security.
• 5+ years advancing digital equity and accessibility of IT resources.
• Nice to have: CISSP or CISM; DoD RMF authorization experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain frameworks such as NIST RMF, ISO 27001 or CMMC enterprise-wide.
• Oversee risk assessments, vulnerability testing and coordinate audits.
• Coordinate cross-team work and manage dependencies to avoid resource conflicts.
• Lead crisis response during incidents: detect, contain, recover.
• Oversee third-party vendors to meet the customer's security standards.
• Promote a security-first culture with organization-wide cybersecurity training.
