Job summary

Idaho State University in Pocatello seeks an Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (5600) to lead Information Technology Services, shaping IT strategy and operations across the university. The AVP/CIO will guide data governance, risk management, and a secure IT infrastructure to support the institution's mission.

This on-campus, non-remote role reports to the Vice President of Operations and requires a bold, strategic IT leader with ERP experience and a track record of driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Admin, or related field.
• At least 10 years IT experience, including 5 in leadership/management.
• Proven success leading large-scale organizational change and tech transformation.
• Strategic leadership for IT systems/operations in an ERP environment.
• Ability to establish IT governance and align IT services with priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong budget management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic IT leadership to align ITS with university objectives.
• Guide data governance, risk management, and IT policy adherence.
• Lead budget stewardship and procurement in line with university policies.
• Drive cross-divisional collaboration and innovation in higher education.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop a university-wide technology roadmap.
