Job summary

Idaho State Tax Commission is seeking an Information Technology Manager III for our Boise office. The role leads a major agency-wide IT service area across four teams, including software development, IT operations, customer support, and cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with statewide technology goals.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership and partners to set priorities, manage technology resources, and drive strategic and operational IT initiatives at the agency

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of management practices. Typically gained by bachelor’s degree or higher in management or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage a major agency-wide IT service area consisting of four teams and multiple technology disciplines, including software development, IT operations and end-user support, and Security.
• Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and performance management to technology teams and their leaders, with an emphasis on leadership development and accountability.
• Oversee two software development teams responsible for GenTax, Fairfax, agency websites, and other critical agency applications and systems.
• Direct IT operations and customer support functions responsible for deskside support, device deployment, technical troubleshooting, and delivery of responsive technology services across the agency.
• Provide agency-level oversight of cybersecurity, including security operations, technology risk, compliance requirements, incident coordination, and relationships with statewide and external partners.
