Hackstone is a Baltimore-based creative video production shop seeking a cinematographer and video editor who can shoot footage, edit projects from first assembly through final delivery, and contribute creative input.
You’ll collaborate with the creative, strategy, and production teams to develop concepts, plan shoots, capture great footage, and edit projects for final delivery. The role requires versatility across narrative, documentary, corporate, and promotional content, with travel as needed.
Too aggressive? Well, that’s the kind of overzealous enthusiasm you get when you let a creative
write a job ad by himself.
Ever flip a table during a Red vs. ARRI debate? Do you see the world in false color and peaking
markers? Do you notice the way the sun is hitting the buildi ng while everyone else is taking vacation
photos?
Are you picky about your Premiere shortcuts? Extremely opinionated about music? Do you leave the
movie theater talking about the edit?
If that sounds like you, we should talk.
Hackstone is looking for a cinematographer/video editor. You’ll give creative input, shoot the footage,
edit projects from first assembly through final delivery. “Final” is used here in its traditional sense,
including “Final_v2” through “Final_v6”.
You’ll work closely with our creative, strategy, and production teams to develop concepts, plan
shoots, capture great footage, and edit projects through final delivery.

Hackstone is a creative video production shop based in Baltimore. We do three things really well:
brand films, strategic organic video content, and performance ads. We also make series
entertainment for streamers, creative commercial campaigns, short films, and animations, but there
wasn’t a good way to make that many things sound good in a sentence.
Our clients hire us for our creativity and our ability to pack a punch. We're small and we've built a culture we're incredibly proud of. We place a high emphasis on fun, growth, and fulfillment. We're also way more into food around here than anyone probably should be.
We call ourselves an agency, but our culture is very non-agency. We believe in work/life balance.
We’re anti-ego. We encourage mistakes. And we support debate and pushing back. And we’ll never refer to ourselves as a “fast-paced environment.” Or "family" even though a lot of us hang out kind of a lot.
