Job summary

Hackstone is a Baltimore-based creative video production shop seeking a cinematographer and video editor who can shoot footage, edit projects from first assembly through final delivery, and contribute creative input.

You’ll collaborate with the creative, strategy, and production teams to develop concepts, plan shoots, capture great footage, and edit projects for final delivery. The role requires versatility across narrative, documentary, corporate, and promotional content, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as cinematographer and editor on diverse projects.
• Ability to shoot and edit from rough cut to final delivery.
• Willingness to travel for shoots and in-office collaboration in Baltimore.

Responsibilities

• Pre-production planning and location scouting; budget crew and gear.
• Shape visual direction across projects.
• Film in narrative, documentary, corporate, social, product styles.
• Perform DP/Cinematographer/AC roles as needed.
• Operate with various cameras, lighting, lenses, and gear.
• Edit, color correct, and produce After Effects titles; mix audio.
• Coordinate drone work or obtain certification if not already certified.
• Balance shooting and editing ratios around project needs.
• Travel to shoots as required; this is a Baltimore-based, in-office position.
