Job summary

Studio Iowa is seeking a Commercial Videographer / Editor to guide the visual execution of high-end corporate films and narrative case studies. You will be the on-set authority, lighting designer, and editor, bridging production and post to deliver polished final cuts.

The role is a 50% production and 50% post-production split, with a lean 2–4 person crew. It is a full-time, on-site position based in the Des Moines, Iowa area studio, requiring strong leadership and a premium visual sensibility.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in professional corporate video or commercial production.
• Mastery of cinema-style video cameras and advanced lighting setups.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and the broader Adobe Creative Suite.
• FAA Part 107 drone license or willingness to obtain after starting.
• Strong ability to lead a small crew and manage production and post-production.
• Strong verbal and written communication for directing talent and clients.

Responsibilities

• On-Set Production & Cinematography (50%): be primary operator and lighting designer for brand films and interviews.
• Crew Leadership: direct a lean crew to execute high-level concepts efficiently.
• Post-Production / Edit (50%): lead initial edits in Premiere and coordinate with post team.
• Client & Talent Direction: manage on-camera talent and client interactions on set.
• Pre-Production & Gear Prep: participate in kickoff, plan visuals, manage gear and tech.
• Project Management: meet deadlines across production and post phases.
