Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a hands‑on mid-level engineer for the Information Security team. You will build backend services powering registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle across B2C and B2B experiences, with strong security and reliability foundations.

You’ll work on authentication features, integrate identity tech, and participate in design, code reviews, and production deployments with mentors to grow your skills.

Qualifications

• Write, test, and debug software in Python, Kotlin or similar languages.
• Foundational backend knowledge: APIs, data structures, databases, versioning.
• Curious about authentication and building secure, reliable customer experiences.
• Willingness to learn via mentorship and code reviews.
• Clear communication with engineering, product, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features from login to MFA with guidance.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin for secure access.
• Integrate identity tech (Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock) with web, mobile and partner apps.
• Follow SDLC: design, code, tests, reviews, and production deployment with the team.
• Debug services, improve reliability, and use logs/metrics to monitor production behavior.
• Collaborate with partners and grow security-focused software skills.
