Job summary

The First Congregational Church of Western Springs seeks a Facility Manager to oversee the church's historic sanctuary and school building, plus the grounds. You will supervise one full-time custodian, manage maintenance contracts, security systems, life safety components, and capital projects, reporting to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating regulatory inspections, budgeting with the Properties Committee, planning maintenance and renovations with cost efficiency,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• College degree or relevant building trade experience preferred.
• Five years or more of Facility Management or Construction Project Management experience.
• Driver License: Yes.
• Background check and Safe Church training required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of two main buildings and grounds.
• Oversee facility operations, maintenance, and housekeeping; supervise one full-time custodian.
• Manage maintenance contracts, security systems, life safety, and capital projects.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections (boiler, elevator, fire drills).
• Develop and manage the Properties budget.
• Plan maintenance and construction projects to minimize disruption.
• Communicate with staff, committees, vendors; ensure safety and quality.
• Open to 40 hours/week; potential part-time.
