Job summary

Calvary Chapel Melbourne is seeking a Part-time Security Officer for the Viera campus. The role involves maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring safety of students, staff, visitors and facilities, and coordinating with local authorities as needed. The position supports campus operations with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and requires compliance with Florida statutes and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida driver’s license (Class E).
• Prev. law enforcement or military service preferred.
• Must be capable of standing/walking up to 8 hours, navigating stairs and terrain, and performing in demanding situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an alert, visible security presence inside and outside the church/school buildings.
• Provide basic first aid according to training level.
• Monitor and respond to potential threats and coordinate with law enforcement/EMS.
• Coordinate with ministries to protect buildings and grounds from unauthorized visitors.
• Document observations/actions using incident reports per SOPs.
