Job summary

Calvary Chapel Melbourne is seeking a part-time Facilities Technician to support the Melbourne campus operations. This role requires regular attendance at the home campus and reporting to the Senior Director, Facilities.

The incumbent will help ensure optimal functioning of building systems, assist with event setup, and perform routine maintenance tasks. The position emphasizes practical mechanical skills, ability to lift heavy objects, and comfort with working at heights.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform building repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
• Able to read basic instruction manuals and wiring schematics
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Publisher, Excel)
• Strong time management and ability to handle several tasks with deadlines
• Physically able to lift heavy objects and work at heights

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate building systems including electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and elevators
• Set up/tear down rooms and equipment for events
• Maintain lawn irrigation and perform preventative maintenance
• Respond to work requests and document maintenance records
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and read schematics
• Operate equipment after training and attend staff meetings
