Job summary

The Salvation Army in Owensboro, KY is seeking a dedicated driver to collect gifts from various locations and transport them to the Christmas warehouse. You will load and unload donations while keeping the vehicle and contents secure, following all safety rules and state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years driving experience.
• Knowledge of the local geographic area.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and possibly 50–100 lbs.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck/van to mall locations to collect gifts and deliver to the Christmas warehouse.
• Load and unload donations; ensure vehicle and donations are secure.
• Operate in line with Salvation Army standards and state regulations; assist in warehouse tasks as needed.

Job description

Drives truck and/or van to mall(s) to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse. Responsible for driving the truck and/or van to and from homes, agencies and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. Loads and unloads gifts from the truck to the warehouse. Operates the truck and/or van in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations; lifts, carries, loads and unloads Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc.; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; assists in performing work at the Christmas warehouse and center as requested.A High School diploma or GEDA minimum of two years driving experience.Knowledge of the assigned geographic area.Ability to organize route in a manner that saves time and gasoline consumptionAbility to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and donors.Ability to perform general cleaning activities for building,Ability to follow instructions.Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to operate commercial equipment,Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing duties given,Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing and climbing as well as lift and carry and/or push/pull moderate (25 – 50 lbs) and possibly heavy (50-100 lbs) materials and donations.
