Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks to malls, homes, churches and agencies to pick up gifts for the Christmas warehouse.
• Load and unload gifts and donations; ensure safety and accountability of vehicle and contents.
• Follow Salvation Army driving procedures and state regulations; maintain schedules and routes.
• Assist in setting up Christmas displays and breaking down after the season.

This position is responsible for:Drives truck and/or van to mall(s) to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse. Responsible for driving the truck and/or van to and from homes, agencies and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. Loads and unloads gifts from the truck to the warehouse. Operates the truck and/or van in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations; lifts, carries, loads and unloads Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc.; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; assists in performing work at the Christmas warehouse and center as requested.Key Responsibilities:Drive trucks to and from malls to pick up gifts and take to the Christmas warehouse, organizing scheduling pick-ups by most direct route to arrive at destinations according to schedule.Drives trucks to homes, agencies, churches and any other designated location to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. to take to the Christmas warehouse.Assist with setting up trees, tables and stands for Christmas display and disassembling at the end of the Christmas Season.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to operate commercial equipment,Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing duties given,Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing and climbing as well as lift and carry and/or push/pull moderate (25 – 50 lbs) and possibly heavy (50-100 lbs) materials and donations.Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.A High School diploma or GED ANDA minimum of two years driving experience.
