Job summary

Shine BrightX LLC seeks a qualified Choral Director to lead middle and upper school ensembles at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, FL. The role focuses on teaching, conducting, and mentoring students in vocal technique, music literacy, and performance skills.

You will direct concerts, select repertoire, and serve as Musical Director for school productions, while collaborating with Fine Arts faculty and supporting admissions outreach through performances and community events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music, Music Education, Choral Conducting, or related field.
• Experience teaching choral music to middle/upper school students preferred.
• Strong conducting, vocal pedagogy, and classroom management skills.
• Piano accompaniment of rehearsals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach and conduct middle and upper school choral ensembles for grades 6–12.
• Develop engaging curriculum focused on vocal technique, music literacy, and performance skills.
• Direct concerts, performances, and special events throughout the school year.
• Select developmentally appropriate and inclusive choral repertoire.
• Serve as Musical Director for school productions.
• Support school assemblies and special events as needed.
• Collaborate with Fine Arts faculty and participate fully in school life.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Partner with Admissions to support recruitment and enrollment efforts through performances, events, and community engagement
