Job summary

Canfor is hiring a Chopsaw Operator at our Marion, SC sawmill. This full-time, permanent role offers a day shift from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm and an hourly wage with bonus opportunities, varying by position and shift.

You will rotate through tasks, safely operate industrial chop saws, and work with a team to hit production goals while maintaining quality. Experience in manufacturing helps, and a readiness to learn is valued.

Qualifications

• Safety-minded and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Able to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods.
• Aware of environmental elements, moving equipment, noise and dust.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing/industrial settings is a plus.
• Knowledge of lumber manufacturing processes is an asset.
• Strong teamwork, urgency, and attention to detail; eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through duties in your workspace on an hourly basis.
• Safely operate industrial machinery and chop saws.
• Collaborate with team to achieve production goals.
• Maintain quality throughout production.
• Inspect machinery for wear or issues and report findings.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
