Job summary

NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), are responsible for analyzing foreign language materials, transcribing, translating, and providing assessments to policymakers and partners across the IC. The LADP offers up to three years of development with rotations through analytic offices.

This position requires ILR 2/2 in reading/listening for Chinese and supports various entry-to-full-performance levels based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum language proficiency ILR level 2/2 for reading and listening in the target language.
• Degree required: any field accepted; relevant experience preferred.
• Entry level paths: high school diploma with 4 years experience, associate degree with 2 years, or bachelor’s with no experience.
• Full Performance level paths: various combinations of degree and years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze foreign language materials (translation, transcription, analysis).
• Engage with partners, enablers, and customers across the IC.
• Possess ability to mentor and lead other language analysts.
• Maintain technical health of the mission and use internal tools.
• Prepare reports and assessments for policymakers.
