Job summary

National Security Agency (NSA) seeks linguists (MDLAs) to analyze foreign language materials within SIGINT. The role supports LADP or direct hires and involves multiple operational tours, training, and delivering analytic insights.

Applicants should have ILR 2/2 in reading/listening, a degree (any field) or related experience, and strong writing/communication skills. Domestic travel and extensive collaboration with IC partners are expected.

Qualifications

• ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening in the target language (Chinese) or equivalent.
• Degree in any field accepted; 4–7 years of relevant experience per entry/developmental to full performance.
• Experience in language-related roles (translation, transcription, analysis) or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, transcribe, translate foreign language material for SIGINT missions.
• Engage with partners and customers across the Intelligence Community.
• Develop and apply analytic skills through training and on-the-job tours.
• Contribute to written and oral assessments with clear insights.
• Mentor and collaborate with other language analysts as needed.
• Maintain high standards of language quality control.
