Job summary

Rapport International seeks qualified interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our Nebraska clients in Omaha. This is a great opportunity to use your cultural knowledge to help non-English speakers while enjoying flexible hours.

This independent contractor role is PRN and part-time (or less depending on languages spoken). Applicants must be fully bilingual, have transportation to attend local appointments, and be available M-F 7AM–5PM when services are typically needed.

Qualifications

• Fully bilingual and able to interpret in-person.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• HIPAA confidentiality/compliance.
• Must have transportation for local appointments.
• Printer access and ability to print/upload vouchers.
• Interpreting experience or certification preferred.
• Background checks and drug screens required.
• PRN schedule; part-time or less depending on languages; some M-F 7AM–5PM availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for Nebraska clients in Omaha.
• Maintain professional conduct and client confidentiality.
• Use online portal to print/upload vouchers.
• Attend appointments locally with transportation.
• Comply with vaccination proof requirements as applicable.
• Assist clients based on service needs and scheduling.

We have an immediate need for Mandarin interpreters in the Omaha area.

Requirements:

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/ HIPAA compliance
• We are looking for IN PERSON interpreters only, you must have transportation to attend appointments locally
• Technical skills for learning/using online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
• Must have access to a printer
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Background checks and drug screens required
• Schedule is PRN (as needed), part time (or less depending on languages spoken) and is flexible based on interpreter's availability and preferences. However, applicants must have some availability M-F 7AM-5PM as this is when services are typically needed.

Please note, this is an independent contractor position with flexible hours. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on availability, languages spoken and client needs.
