Job summary

American University is seeking dynamic Language Coaches to join the CLEAR team. The coaches help enrolled students in World Languages courses develop language skills and participate in on-campus language experiences.

This part-time role (10 hours/week) is non-exempt and eligible for Federal Work Study; training is provided. Coaches work with a language team, meet students, schedule coaching sessions, and help ensure resources are used effectively.

Qualifications

• Be a native or highly fluent speaker of the target language; tested on grammar, oral, and writing skills.
• Previous teaching or training experience is highly desired.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the World Languages department and CLEAR activities.
• Host staff and resources to enhance language courses on campus.
• Attend coaching shifts and assist with scheduling and logistics.
