Job summary

American University is seeking dynamic Language Coaches to join the CLEAR team. You will assist AU students enrolled in World Languages courses by helping develop their language skills.

The CLEAR unit supports language courses and fosters AU students’ learning experiences. Coaches are native or fluent speakers from various languages, part-time shifts, typically 2 hours per session, with weekly commitments of 6–8 hours. Training and supervision are provided.

Qualifications

• Be a native or highly fluent speaker of the language you intend to coach; candidates will be tested on grammar, oral and writing skills.
• Previous teaching or training experience is highly desired.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support faculty in World Languages and Cultures at American University.
• Host staff and resources to enhance language courses and facilitate language learning for AU students.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
