Job summary

ALO is seeking an Assistant Buyer for the China Division in Beverly Hills. You will report to the International Buyer and support daily execution of the China business, focusing on reporting, data analysis, inventory tracking, and pricing/assortment setup to grow within a fast-paced global fashion brand.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in merchandising/buying, strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative mindset to thrive cross-functionally and support supply chain

Qualifications

• BA or BS preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, planning, or retail.
• Strong interest in international business; prior exposure is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with data and learning new systems.
• Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports for the China business.
• Assist in tracking inventory levels across China stores and e-commerce channels.
• Assist the Sr. Buyer with seasonal buy preparation and data organization.
• Monitor and track shipment status and warehouse ETAs.
• Help identify and communicate any delays or risks related to product deliveries.
• Support basic sales analysis (in-season and post-season) and help compile insights for the team.
• Attend team meetings and take notes, tracking follow-ups and action items related to the China business.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Planning, Allocations, Merchandising, Marketing, Production) to help execute day-to-day tasks.
• Assist in preparing presentations and recaps for internal meetings.
