Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Chiller Mechanic to join the Chilled Water Systems team. The technician will maintain air‑cooled and water‑cooled chiller plants, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and address equipment in a large campus cooling network.

Candidate should have a high school diploma with related maintenance experience, EPA Universal 608 certification, and the ability to troubleshoot pumps, compressors, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• EPA Universal 608 Certification is preferred or required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair large pumps and auxiliary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain air‑cooled and water‑cooled chiller systems and related equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and repairs to ensure reliability.
• Address inspections, teardowns, and repairs of chillers and associated systems.
